Summary

About The Role

We are looking for a highly talented and experienced Fire Service Engineer to join our team of people. This is a mobile role and based in Somerset and the surrounding area.

Purpose of the role:

As a Fire Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing and repairs to fire and life safety systems at multiple sites to ensure a high level of fire safety is provided to our customers across a geographical area in line with LiveWest business objectives.

Qualifications:


- Fire Equipment Servicing Qualification or evidence of time served in a similar role.
- Level 3 NVQ (either City & Guilds 2360 parts 1 and 2 or City & Guilds 2330 2351 levels 2 and 3) (or equivalent). (D)
- AM1 and AM2. (D)
- City & Guilds 2382-12 18th Edition. (D)

This is a full time opportunity although part time (minimum 30 hours per week) or job share may be considered.

About The Candidate

To be considered for the role of Fire Service Engineer, you will be/have:

- Comprehensive understanding of BS5839:1, BS5839:6, BS5266:1 and BS7671 and ideally holding a qualification in fire safety systems maintenance.
- Experience using domestic sprinkler systems. (D)
- Competent in using and updating a handheld smart phone or Tablet PC and associated apps.
- Experience of working in customers’ homes. (D)
- Good knowledge of fire safety legislation, regulation and guidance.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, to resolve issues and proactively to avoid problems.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Have a flexible and willing approach to work.
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence (this will be checked with the DVLA).
- Availability to out of hours call out rota.
- Be able to demonstrate experience within the Fire Maintenance industry.
- Be aware of, and have regard for, trade-related environmental issues.
- Being the first point of contact with our customers and helping to ensure customer satisfaction.
