Summary
We are looking for caring, reliable and flexible individual to build on our team of experienced support staff providing care to older adults living at our award winning Laurels residential care home in Carlisle. Our service supports 25 residents (older adults) with some individuals who have dementia and has been recognised as being one of the 20 top rated Care Homes in the region based on published reviews from residents and their family and friends. The service focuses on promoting independence, maintaining dignity, encouraging inclusion and supporting general health and wellbeing in a positive manner.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the in house and external recreational activities of the residents in both group and one-to-one settings. To promote and organise in-house activities and entertainment and encourage participation in hobbies, either old or new ones. To organise exercise sessions, with music and movement as well as other appropriate activities of interest to individuals. To develop activities that are inclusive for all and to capture outcomes. The service is on a main public transport route and is easily accessible. We offer weekly pay if preferred.

Leading on, and delivering, high quality meaningful activity for all residents
Ensuring people living with dementia enjoy the same opportunities for engagement and activity as other residents
Stimulating excellent interaction and communication between staff and residents
Creating and maintaining excellent community links
Documenting outcomes and contributing to the 6 weekly residents and families newsletter
This is a part-time role between 2 and 4 days per week, and can be worked around school times of 10.00 am – 2.30 pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm evenings. The role will include some weekend working.
