Summary
Come and join our Governance Team at South Central Ambulance Service NHS FT – it’s a great place to work. We have appointed a new Chief Governance Officer who is recruiting a new team to help develop systems and processes to deliver the very best governance for the Trust.
This post will contribute to establishing and maintaining and for ensuring that the Trust’s corporate governance is undertaken to the highest standards of probity and in accordance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
The post holder will work closely with the other members of the Governance team and wider staff network to provide a full administrative service for the effective functioning of the Trust’s corporate meeting cycle and overall support of professional meetings, Council of Governors, and wider Corporate Affairs function.
This role is currently a hybrid working role and that it will still require some travel to SCAS sites.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the Head of Corporate Governance & Compliance for establishing and maintaining and for ensuring that the Trust’s corporate governance is undertaken to the highest standards of probity and in accordance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
The post holder will work closely with the Corporate Governance & Compliance Officer and oversee their work to provide a full administrative service for the effective functioning of the Trust’s corporate meeting cycle and overall support of professional meetings.
The Corporate Governance & Compliance Manager will manage the Policy and Procedures process and repository, maintain statutory registers, lead on the Annual Report and Annual Membership Meeting, and be the first contact point for the Council of Governors and lead on Governor induction, training and development and will service Council of Governor meetings and away days.

About Us
South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services, along with commercial logistics services.
The Trust delivers most of these services to the populations of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire as well as non-emergency patient transport services in Surrey and Sussex.

Ensure that Board meetings are held in accordance with the Trust’s constitution.
Lead on compliance with the organisation’s Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions and Scheme of Delegation and ensure that any breaches are identified and reported through appropriate channels and that these constitutional documents are reviewed annually. This will be achieved through the analysis of the constitutional and regulatory documents Lead compliance with best practice around the Fit and Proper Persons test for all Directors by analysing the current records.
Work with the Head of Corporate Governance & Compliance to analyse and ensure that the Trust is Well-Led and complies with the Code of Governance
Lead on compliance with Annual Reporting guidance as well as Annual
Governance Statement and statutory annual returns requirements.
Prepare the publication, distribution and presentation of the annual report and annual governance statement.
Lead on the management of the Annual Membership Meeting.
