We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about Planning with a degree in a Planning discipline or able to train to become a qualified planner in the future. Someone who wants to make planning their career, and is passionate about the Social, Economic and Environment values of a community. This post plays a central role in managing key planning projects within this thriving local authority. Our Development Teams work on a range of exciting and innovate schemes which are shaping the future of Huntingdonshire.

You will need the following attributes:

An interest in Town Planning with and understanding about what planning is and the issues surrounding this Local Planning Authority statutory duty, and a drive to see this post as a career
Good customer service and an ability to work with all sectors of the community with understanding and clarity
A team player, working within an area planning team to deliver timely decisions, which are well thought through and based on a systematic assessment of policies

The 2 Area Development Management teams operate within a wider Development structure which covers a district of over 90,000 hectares. As the largest district in Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire is home to over 177,000 residents, with more than 78,000 homes.

For many of our roles (and where it is possible) we are currently working remotely and anticipate in the future returning to a hybrid office model on a flexible basis. This will still include work-from-home and flexi-time opportunities in order to provide a good work-life balance whilst still ensuring that teams benefit from in-person interaction. Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.
