Summary
Personal assistant required for a ten-year-old girl who lives in the Helston area.
She has Kleefstra syndrome, is non-verbal, and is a wheelchair user with global development delay.
She is a happy, social girl who gives the best cuddles!
We are looking for a PA for 6 hours a week on a Saturday or Sunday (flexible to suit both parties each week) with the addition of extra hours during the school holidays.
This would involve taking her out and the use of our car.
She likes being involved in daily activities, enjoys being outside and going for walks and meeting new people.
We are more than happy to look at splitting the role between two PAs. Rate of pay is £12.50 per hour.
Experience working with disabled young people is an advantage. Car driver essential.
The role will involve providing some personal care when needed.
Some lifting will be required, and safer moving and handling training can be provided.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check; this administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
Please apply by emailing a copy of your CV and quoting the reference code DP/1062 to: cypdirectpayments@cornwall.gov.uk. Alternatively, please email to request an application form.
