Summary

We are recruiting Event Stewards at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Sports and Leisure services team.

We pay an attractive salary of £12.18 - £12.38 per hour and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful applicants will be required to work as and when required, to assist in the staging of the Council’s Sporting Events programme, and have a flexible approach to working hours, especially regarding evenings and weekends.

The post involves a variety of duties with the key responsibility being crowd management. This includes advising visitors of areas of an event site that are restricted to members of the public. Also, monitoring crowd density for congestion and overcrowding.

For the role, we ask that you have:

1. An awareness of health, safety and hazard management including fire hazards and suspicious packages
2. Checking validity of access passes for pedestrians and vehicles
Where appropriate, maintain a safe and appropriate distance between members of the public and event participants and performers. Maintaining any barrier segregating display / performance areas from the public
3. Assisting event participants and performers as and when requested
4.Undertake steward related instructions as directed by or on behalf of Steward and Event Management Team
5. Offer general assistance and directions to visitors with any enquiries and answer event visitor enquiries using knowledge of the event supplied through the Stewards Briefing session.
