Summary
SEN Teaching Assistant Bolton September
Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join an exclusion unit at a secondary school near Bolton. You will be required to work with small groups of KS3/4 pupils who have Social, Emotional Mental Health needs or PTSD, The role will be full time and will continue initially on a temporary basis but could become permanent after a successful probationary period.
The unit helps students that find it difficult to manage in mainstream education by giving them a caring and understanding environment. As part of this role, you will support students that have experienced a turbulent time in education and at times a negative experience.
You will be required to be able to commit to the role on a full time basis and be consistent with the behaviour policy of the unit. You will need to build relationships quickly with the pupils and you will have help and supervision from teaching staff and senior leadership.
The students focus on a reduced curriculum and in particular delivering lessons on key subjects such as Maths, English and Science so a strong background in these subjects is desirable. As an SEN Teaching Assistant this is an opportunity to make a real positive change to a young persons life.

Experience, Training & Qualifications
Recent experience of supporting pupils with SEN
Strong personal academic background in Maths, English & Science
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided)
Up to date Prevent training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however training can be provided)
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional children related references
