Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary School ASD Teaching Assistant to join one of our fantastic schools in Enfield. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and supporting the emotional well-being of our primary school students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement behaviour intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and other school staff.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour changes.
- Work closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support students with additional needs.
- Deliver workshops and training sessions on behaviour management strategies for staff and parents.
- Maintain up-to-date records of behaviour incidents and interventions.
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience working with primary school-aged children in a behavioural support role.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and positive behaviour support techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
