Summary
As the person responsible you will safeguard our sites and processes while monitoring compliance with wider regulations and statutory requirements. With your expertise and attention to detail, you will ensure buildability and efficient and effective delivery while maximising the project's benefits.
This is a unique opportunity with exposure to the Water and Rail industry, which will provide the successful candidate with a unique journey into Thames Water's future!
What you’ll be doing as a Construction Manager
- Ensuring compliance with environmental requirements in asset design and delivery, monitoring delivery performance and working with contractors to address issues and improve.
- Ensuring compliance with current CDM regulations.
- Work closely with the Integration team to ensure project deliverables are clear and agreed upon by all stakeholders.
- Support contractor and Operations liaison during the design process, promoting innovation, best practices, and compliance with quality standards.
- Engage with Asset Management. Engineering and Operations: identify synergies and use lessons learned from previous projects to agree on the most effective solutions.
- Support the assessment and appointment of contractors.
- Work closely with the Integration team to ensure project deliverables are clear and agreed upon by all stakeholders.
- Verify and approve project plans (Project Delivery Plan, Commissioning Plan, test plans).
- Stress test contractor programmes and ensure compatibility with other projects and isolations.
- Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMs), and work package plans (WPPs) prior to TWOSA or rail authority submission.
- Assess and report weekly progress against the programme.
This role will be based at Maple Lodge - Hybrid.
36 hours a week, 80% of this role will be site-based, and 20% will be hybrid working. The successful candidate must have a driving licence and access to a car. This role will come with £5.8k car allowance.
What you should bring to the role
- Chartered Civil Engineer or substantial experience in a similar role.
- Background of working within utilities or rail networks would be a benefit in this role.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Understanding of the development of design, construction and operation of infrastructure or non-infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of performance and quality management.
