BSMHFT would like to appoint a Deputy Head of Quality for Provider Collaboratives working in a rapidly evolving environment and driving forward the Quality Agenda for our Provider Collaboratives.

The successful candidate will be a core member of the BSOL Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism teams and will work with Quality team colleagues on delivering Quality & Safety governance and assurance

The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Quality and Director of Quality & Safety to provide senior strategic visible clinical and professional leadership, for the quality, safety and patient experience agenda.

Providing specialist expertise and supporting specific responsibility for patient safety, quality and experience, they will promote quality improvement, innovation, assurance and performance that improves quality of care and patient outcomes, driving transformation through agreed improvement models.

This will include supporting delivery of BSOL MHLD&A PC strategic commissioning objectives and the national long-term plans from a quality perspective, including quality improvement at a system level for mental health, learning disabilities and autism
• Demonstrating strong and visible clinical leadership, direction and support to members of the Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism quality teams
• Ensuring effective arrangements are in place for maintaining quality oversight of MHLD&A commissioned services for people with mental health problems, learning disabilities or autism for s117 placements
• Representing the Provider Collaborative from a quality perspective in relevant local forums for strategic work. Working with MHLD&A quality assurance and commissioning team to ensure robust processes for learning and system change arising from serious incidents
• Ensure timely and robust escalation of any quality and/or patient safety concerns within commissioned services to the Head of Quality/ Director of Quality and Safety and the Deputy Director of Commissioning
• Ensuring patients and carers voices and views are heard and used to inform care and support the development of community services that meet individuals needs
• The Deputy Head of Quality will participate in the BSMHFT Trust Tactical On Call Rota
