Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Hepatology Nursing Team. You will work closely with our Nurse Manager and wider team to deliver high quality care to patients with Hepatitis C across the Thames Valley Operational Delivery Network (ODN) with further opportunities to work on local, regional and national campaigns to support the health and wellbeing of patients living with hepatitis C and liver disease.

Thames Valley Operational Delivery Network for Hepatitis C are dedicated to achieving the elimination of Hepatitis C as a public health threat ahead of the WHO target to achieve elimination by 2030, as pledged by the United Kingdom Health Security Agency.

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Registered Nurse (Adult) with a real passion for developing clinical skills and pathways in an environment that is ever changing. You must be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations and challenges.

We will consider flexible working requests and a secondment will also be considered by the interview panel. This is an ever-evolving service that will develop to meet the needs of this marginalised group and ensuring that your clinical skills will be fully utilised and continually updated.

This role is based across the Thames Valley ODN region so the successful candidate will not necessarily be Oxford based. This can be discussed with the Nurse manager at interview.

You must have a flexible approach to working within a team that encourages new ideas and initiativeson how todevelop the service. The role is largely focussed on Hepatitis C management covering testing and treatment in many different settings including testing campaigns, outreach clinics, GP surgeries, drug and alcohol services, mobile van and prisons, with a vision to include other areas of liver health. The post will cover the Thames Valley region which includes, Oxfordshire, Swindon, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes.

The Thames Valley ODN will offer training and development within our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team to develop this specialist role.

• Significant and relevant post registration nursing experience
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• IT skills
• Phlebotomy skills
• Hep C Knowledge
• Flexible in hours of work
• Car owner driver and able to travel across Oxfordshire, Swindon, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes,

Desirable
• Post qualification or relevant experience within hepatology or drug and alcohol settings
• Non-Medical Prescriber
