We are recruiting an Electrical Harness Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield.
You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Harness Engineer:
• Generate & develop Cost reduction ideas for Low voltage & High voltage Harnesses, work cross functionally with other affected Design sections to deliver the ideas.
• Development of vehicle harnesses and other electrical components to client’s design/test standards.
• Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to QCT. (Quality, Cost, Timing)
• Managing in house and supplier validation of components
• Countermeasure determination with Test groups.
• Status reporting to management
• Production release to deadlines
• Project milestone and cost management to deadlines
• Plant support on current and new model programs.
Qualifications & Experience for the Electrical Harness Engineer:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
• Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
• Have Harness layout and application experience.
• Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
• Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques.
• Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development.
• Have good written and verbal communication.
• Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
• Competent with PC applications. Including Microsoft excel and project.
• Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
Hours & Pay for the Electrical Harness Engineer:
• Monday to Friday
• 39 hours per week
