Shifts are based in our theatres working 2pm-7pm (times TBC with successful candidate)

Additional paid overtime opportunities available.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated surgical team at the Hospital for Small Animals. This role is solely based in our theatre suites and will have minimal contact with our ward based inpatients.

The Opportunity:

You will assist in providing a high standard of cleanliness in the theatre suites by setting up and preparing for surgical procedures, preparing patients for theatre and preparing equipment for operations while assisting the veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses with the daily running of our referral hospital theatre suites.

The successful candidate will also share the responsibility for the cleaning, maintaining of specialist equipment and surgical instrumentation.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Must have either a relevant vocational qualification (or HNC/HND animal care equivalent) plus 1 year’s work experience in a relevant role, OR school education to standard/national 5 grades or equivalent plus 2 years relevant work experience
Excellent organisation and communication are essential.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment is essential.
Ability to proactively work with minimal supervision is essential.
Attention to detail and an ability to carry out work to a high standard is essential.
