Role Length: This opening assignment is for 5-6 months

City: Bristol

Remote working but there is an expectation to come into City Hall for team meetings and business needs from time to time.

The purpose of the role is to provide a responsive, timely, accurate, customer focused and professional HR resourcing service to hiring managers, employees, candidates and other users in accordance with Bristol City Council (BCC) policy and procedures, recruitment legislation and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide administration support to hiring managers including new starter paperwork, references etc.
Responsible for quality check recruitment advertisements and job paperwork submitted by hiring managers ensuring that they meet the requirements of predetermined BCC professional standards e.g. the ‘Hiring Manager Checklist’
Provide accurate, timely and professional information and advice to hiring managers, candidates and other relevant stakeholders.
Process data using relevant systems that ensure accurate records are maintained and key performance targets and objectives are met.
Support the promotion of the BCC HR self-service intranet tool and to contribute in its development and maintenance.
Responsible for producing standard contracts of employment/offer letters in line with service level agreements and which meet statutory employment legislation.
Provide advertising advice and support to hiring managers ensuring high professional standards are achieved, which protect the BCC brand and ensure value for money.
Maintain a detailed knowledge of BCC HR policies and procedures specifically in relation to HR administration and recruitment and to attend any relevant training and development courses.
Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of specialised systems used within resourcing and wider HR.

Qualifications:

NVQ level 2 in business administration or equivalent qualification and/or experience of working in business administration.



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Ability to deliver a highly professional and customer focused service to others.
Ability to manage time effectively, by organising and prioritising tasks in order to achieve deadlines.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Ability to quality monitor information and/or data to ensure accuracy, attention to detail and to maintain high professional standards.
Ability to work effectively within a pressurised environment.
Ability to work as part of a team and alone using own initiative to achieve positive outcomes for others.
Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
