As part of the Outdoor and Cycle Concepts group, Cotswold Outdoor is joined by Runners Need and Snow + Rock to support outdoor enthusiasts by providing excellent customer service and a range of products from world leading brands, all whilst promoting and encouraging sustainability!

How will you make an impact?

  • Overseeing the strategy of several departments and having key input into the company strategy, under the guidance of the Head of Buying and Product Director
  • Working as part of the Buying Leadership Team to support the day-to-day activities of the wider team and play a key role in Buying related projects
  • Supporting the Product Director in the evolution of the 3 year Product, Brand, and Category Strategy
  • Overseeing the management of one or more Buyers/Junior Buyers
  • Fostering supplier relationships to maximise terms and own brand joint business plans
  • Selecting products to be featured in Marketing campaigns and Visual Merchandising initiatives
  • Presenting the long-term Brand Plan and seasonal product learnings to the Head of Buying and Product Director
  • Providing input into the seasonal trading plan and owning the trading calendar
  • Developing the team and ensuring the Buying critical path is followed through effective delegation of tasks
  • Deputising for the Head of Buying
  • Reviewing and understanding the weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs with the Merchandisers, providing insight and suggesting actions
  • Completing store visits to ensure the key priorities of the “go-to market” strategy are being adhered to and collections are landing as planned
  • Visiting suppliers and attending trade fairs in the UK and Europe

Please note this role is 40 hours per week.

You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • Experience in a Senior Buyer role or as a Buyer of a large category
  • Clothing experience
  • Awareness of how to do a strategic critical analysis of the market
  • Multi-brand experience with suppliers and brands
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Leadership skills with a proven track record of changing processes and developing skills and behaviours in a team
  • Proven track record of being able to identify new product opportunities and innovations to get behind
