The University Hospitals Bristol & Weston (UHBW) NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint a full-time post of Haematology Specialty Doctor in The Bristol Haematology Unit based at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC).

The post will start from April 2025 and is a 2-yr position, with the potential for extension to permanent.

The postholder will provide care for patients with haematological conditions, mainly haematological malignancies including patients who have undergone stem cell transplantation. UHBW is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC in 2016 and 2019 and a major teaching and research centre for the South West. The job is based in the recently built Bristol Haematology Unit, which comprises a 25 bedded in-patient unit, an apheresis unit, a Teenage and Young Adult Unit (TYA), Same Day Emergency Care unit and Chemotherapy Day Unit, shared with oncology. In addition, the successful applicant will take part in haematology clinics and laboratory haematology reporting. They will have the opportunity to undertake clinical supervision of junior doctors within the department. The post-holder will also have responsibilities to develop and contribute to continuing education, professional development, audit and research within the Trust and the University.

We are looking for enthusiastic doctors, with experience in haematology, to join an expanding service. The successful candidate will require flexibility and excellent communication skills as well as being reliable and well organised. You will need to be able to work both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
