Your new role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join us on a 9 month secondment basis!

As the Finance Business Partner (FBP) to Programmes/Divisions within the Major Projects Directorate you will be a member of the leadership team(s) and the senior point of contact for all financial issues for that area of the business, providing financial support, insight, challenge and partnership.

This role represents a senior finance position and the holder is responsible both for the development of financial strategy and processes within their area and for maintaining strong communications with the Central Financial Business Services (FBS) Team.

This role will require regular travel to other offices.

What you'll be leading on

Specialist support, guidance and advice on key strategic and commercial issues to influence performance outcomes.
Objective analysis of business performance, highlighting key issues/ problem areas and making recommendations for action where appropriate.
Robust performance management and reporting to track delivery of financial and non-financial targets.
Lead the Business Planning Process for your area(s) of responsibility.
Champion the adoption of new business processes and support their embedment.
Development of robust investment submissions and CFO briefings
Financial governance and controls

To be successful you'll need

Excel in forming good relationships and stakeholder management.
Ability to understand/analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.
Experienced in the presentation of analysis and clear documentation into the risks, volatility and sensitivities of key cost behaviours presented alongside the financial performance.
Understands the relationship of a project to a portfolio or programme of work and is able to perform a post project review to ensure that learnings are documented, measured and communicated for future guidance.
Qualified Accountant with extensive experience.
