Summary

A Vacancy at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

Critical Care in East Kent Hospitals is at an exciting period of redevelopment, having attracted national investment to deliver a critical care hub for Kent and Medway. We have recently moved to a new 24-bed purpose build unit which boasts excellent facilities for both patients and staff. This includes;

· Hi-fidelity simulation suite within the ICU.

· Regular protected teaching which maps the FICM syllabus.

· Dedicated time within the rota to develop your CV, for example achieving accreditation in echocardiography.

· Multiple (6) echocardiography mentors for FICE/FUSIC within the department including two BSE level 2 accredited Consultants.

· Other areas of interest could include teaching, leadership or research depending on the applicant.

The post holder will be on the senior medical rota for the intensive care unit along with other senior intensive care/anaesthetic trainees (ST4-7). The successful candidate will already have basic (stage 1) experience in intensive care medicine (ICM) and be actively seeking either to specialise in, or further develop their skills in ICM. In addition, there is specific time built into the rota to allow the successful candidate to pursue activities that further their CV. This could be in echocardiography or in another area of interest such as teaching, leadership or research.
