Summary


Moorfields at Northwick Park is one of our satellites in North West London and offers a comprehensive ophthalmic service to our patients in the North West London area. We are looking for a full time Senior Staff Nurse with a wide interest in nursing ophthalmic patients in a range of settings such as pre and post op care and out-patient clinics which includes retinal therapy. This is an opportunity to join our dynamic team of ophthalmic nursing staff and develop your skills as an ophthalmic nurse practitioner.

The successful candidate will be required to be flexible, enthusiastic and committed to bringing the highest level of nursing care to patients in line with the Quality Agenda of the NHS and the Moorfields Nursing Strategy.

The candidate must be dynamic and have a flexible approach to working.
• The successful candidate will be a supervisor to junior staff and support the sister with the day to day running of the clinic. They will assist with the delivery of the ophthalmic services at Moorfields Northwick Park based in North West London.
• The post holder will facilitate the provision of excellent nursing care and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

• The post holder will be a part of a clinical team provided to ensure that clinical care of patients and others using the service receive an efficient and quality service.

Our main focus is the treatment and care of NHS patients with a wide range of eye problems, from common complaints to rare conditions that require treatment not available elsewhere in the UK. The volume and variety of conditions treated by our clinicians means that they have a unique range of skills and knowledge.

This post is based primarily at Northwick Park Hospital and may be required to work across two sites which include Ealing and Potters Bar.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a streamlined, efficient and effective service for patients attending the Moorfields Outpatients and Day Care facilities at Northwick Park Hospital. The delivery of a high standard of patient care is our goal.

They would be a good team player with the right attitude for promoting good quality service delivery and patient's satisfaction.

Support the Clinic Manager in working collaboratively with Infection Control, Risk Management and corporate nursing to ensure actions from audits and incidents are acted upon and resolved in a timely manner.

Participate in the management of your respected teams in the absence of a Senior Practitioner.

They will contribute positively to the team dynamics and be physically able to meet the demands of the post, working autonomously to co-ordinate and deliver comprehensive care to patients.
