Summary

Working hours: 35 hours per week, 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, occasional weekend and evening work required but notice would be given.

One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, is looking for a Community Support Worker to be part of the team at Ilford Corps and Malachi Place
Key responsibilities:

You will assist with the delivery of community programmes and activities within the Corps such Toddler Group, Coffee Morning, Practical Assistant Appointments and other Corps activities as necessary.
This is a hands on, people focused role and is a key role within the Ilford Salvation Army. Working alongside both staff and volunteers to ensure the effective delivery of programmes and all community engagement.
Assist with administration as required and maintain the stock room, manage incoming donations from the community and informing the Corps Officer when supplies were needed.
Ensure your work is carried out in accordance with both The Salvation Army and any relevant statutory policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Excellent working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel and Word to an advanced level.
Excellent communication skills and can develop good working relationships with colleagues and the community.
You will also have an awareness of relevant safeguarding matters.
An ability to work within The Salvation Army’s Christian ethos and key values.
