Summary


The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, co-ordination and the delivery of a high quality mental health service for patients of the Home Treatment Team who required rapid response / intervention and assessment, and / or in the absence of the team would require hospital admission.

The post holder will be required to provide brief focused counselling working with people during their crisis. The post holder will work under clinical and management supervision and will be provided with appropriate support. The post holder will be required to be flexible and to deliver treatments and intervention at home across Hillingdon borough.



The post holder will be involved in the ongoing development of the HTT, providing crisis response and assessment, and also acute home treatment to people with mental health problems at risk of admission to hospital. A psychologist will be expected to provide brief focused assessment and treatment to people with defined common mental health difficulties

They will co-ordinate the care of patients of the HTT, and assist in the promotion of the use of evidence-based practice through the provision of clinical advice and support; acting as a role model; and providing education and training where appropriate. They will liaise closely with the Trustwide Single Point of Access / Central Flow Hub providing rapid response to mental health crisis situations where necessary and appropriate.

To participate in the formulation of policy and the development of the HTT, the rapid response function of the service and the interface with the Single Point of Access

To assist in monitoring standards of clinical practice within the team and recommend changes where necessary.

To participate in the implementation of professional and Trust-wide clinical policies.

To maintain an effective working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Health Act (Patients in the Community) 1995 and work within these legal requirements.
