Full time post

Applications are invited for this world-class training opportunity in all aspects of clinical haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and CAR T cell therapy. The University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC in 2016 and a major teaching and research centre for the South West. The BMT Unit performs every type of allograft and is consistently the top recruiter to national transplant studies. University Hospitals Bristol is one of ten adult UK transplant centres commissioned to deliver CAR T cells. We have given CAR T cells to patients with ALL, DLBCL, MCL and MM. We also deliver TIL cells for various solid tumours.

We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor, with experience in and haematology, to join an expanding BMT and IEC service. This post will be based at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) and will suit individuals with experience in haematology and are looking to expand their knowledge of transplantation and cellular therapy. The BMT unit is internationally recognised and is regarded as one of the best transplant and IEC units in Europe. Many of our transplant fellows are now running their own transplant units. The instruction in BMT theory and techniques our fellows receive is second to none.

This post will be suitable for applicants who have previous experience in Haematology.

The post will provide clinical cover for the care of adult patients undergoing allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplantation and CAR T cell therapy. Duties will primarily cover the medical review of patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation and CAR T cell therapy. The applicant will also provide medical input regarding donor selection, apheresis procedures and BMT medical co-ordination. Participation in research projects and writing papers is actively encouraged.
