Would you like to complete a Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3 whilst working within the Income Team? Are you enthusiastic and keen to learn from a small established team? You will be involved in collection of sundry debt and payment to suppliers on behalf of the Colchester City Council, Colchester Borough Homes and Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd.

Duties of the role
You will be supported in achieving the Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3, by colleagues in the Income Team and wider organisation of Colchester City Council and Career Track Apprenticships.

The successful candidate will work within the Income Team, you will assist with the collection of payment of sundry debts and carry out recovery processes when required. Assist daily with the correct allocation of unidentified credits and process payments received by cheque.

You will support our accounts payable team by assisting with setting up new suppliers and pro-forma invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers and customers.

We will ensure that all requirements to achieve the qualification will be met within the Income Team or where necessary by colleagues in other teams within the Council.

We aim to provide an excellent service to internal and external customers, and at the same time are always looking for ways to improve our processes.

Qualifications and skills required
To be successful in this role, you will need to be keen learn from your colleagues, accept feedback in a positive way, show initiative and contribute to developing processes. Be able to take responsibility for your own work at the same time as being part of the wider team.

IT skills such as Microsoft Office 365 applications would be beneficial. Training will be given on Efinancials and FPM.



You will need to take responsibility for completing the required modules within the apprenticeship and work with a dedicated supervisor assigned from the council and with the trainer from Career Track Apprenticeships.
