Founded in 1685, our client is one of the world’s, oldest family run businesses and holder of a Royal Warrant. The business designs and makes jewellery, embroidery, medals, ribbon & insignia, and a broad range of other identity-based products for state institutions and corporate clients around the world.

You will be tasked with purchasing raw materials and finished goods, as well as proactively monitoring stock levels and negotiating terms with suppliers.

• Immaculate attention to detail and ability to work to a high-quality standard.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Good communication skills at all business levels and ability to interpret and communicate business inquiries to suppliers and back.
• Good organisational skills, ability to multi-task and commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Good Microsoft Office, ERP, and other IT skills as you will have to utilise these daily.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus, especially in a jewellery industry.
• Proactive approach and the ability to take initiative.
• Ability to function effectively both individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to make and own decisions with minimum guidance.
• Self-motivated, but also a great team player.

What will your role look like?

• Ensure that the goods consistently meet the required quality, delivery terms, and price.
• Place orders using our ERP system.
• Actively monitor order status and chase late deliveries.
• Keep a good relationship with our suppliers and actively search for new ones.
• Negotiate supplier quotes and terms to keep the budget under control while meeting business demands.
• Keep records with detailed specifications of materials and products.
• Utilise ERP system whenever possible to increase the efficiency of the buying process.
• Always proactively seek ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the buying process.
• Ensure suppliers are following international health and safety and other standards and good practice.
• Identify product non-conformities and investigate root causes, ensuring corrective actions are taken and preventative procedures are set in place.
• Liaise with other employees to ensure the company obtains maximum benefit from the purchasing function.
