Summary

Based in the Debt Recovery Team within Financial Solutions, you will report to the Revenues & Benefits Team Leader, and will carry out tasks associated with running an efficient and effective Revenue & Benefits service.
You will proactively participate in the recovery of Housing Benefit Overpayments and Sundry Debt owed to the Council.
You may have to assist with tasks and responsibilities in other areas of Revenues & Benefits including the day-to-day functions in respect of the billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates, processing of Housing and Council Tax Reduction Scheme claims, Blue Badge and FSM and clothing grants applications and Scottish Welfare Fund applications in terms of the Community Care Grants and Crisis Loans.
You must have moderate relevant administration experience and experience in dealing with the public.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, good communication, literacy and numeracy skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team are all considered essential qualities.
An IRRV Benefits Technician or equivalent qualification, experience of working with Open Revenues software, processing claims and a knowledge of document image processing would be desirable.
