Summary

Digital & Technology Services provide IT services and facilities for the University of Dundee across all campuses. The directorate is split into four delivery departments: Security Infrastructure & Research Computing, Business Services, End User Services and Directors Office. The directorate provides services ranging from the provision of the university core network & datacentres through to client devices and provision of corporate software systems. This role is part of the End User Services department.


We are recruiting for (2) .5 FTE exceptional individuals to join us as Service Delivery Technicians in our experienced End User Services Out of Hours Team based in the main library on campus. These are permanent roles.


Reporting to the Service Desk Team Manager, These roles involve working weekdays in the evening (until 8.00 pm) and at the weekend daytime shifts (until 6.00 pm). These are customer facing roles and primarily involve providing support to our student community. These roles would be suitable for students or those wishing to take advantage of non-conventional hours.

Your priorities will include:



  • As the first point of contact for users at the main library IT Service Point you'll log and resolve queries, incidents, problems and requests relating to both equipment and applications.

  • Provide in person support to students with regards to the use of printing facilities and wireless connectivity

  • Assist in the set-up and deployment of PC's and networked devices

  • Ensure that service desk records are correctly recorded, maintained and updated-using our Service Management tool (TOPdesk).

  • Provide preventative maintenance and assist in keeping equipment in a satisfactory condition
