An Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” specialist school based in Camden,NW1, for children aged 3 - 19 years with Autism and speech, language, and communication difficulties is excited to welcome new SEN learning support assistants to join us from September 2024 for a full academic year.
Job Description
This Special Needs Learning Support Assistant role will involve supporting secondary children, assisting the class teacher and therapists, helping to maintain the learning environments, and assisting with administration. The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant will also be required to provide dedicated 1:1 support to specific children and also to provide whole-class support in lessons. Alongside the staff, you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
The ideal Special Needs teaching assistant will be able to provide emotional support as the pupil can become distressed easily, so patience is key for the role. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate strong relationship-building skills as a SEND teaching assistant and the ability to raise levels of Numeracy and Literacy.
To be considered for this role you will need:
• Experience with ASD
• Behaviour Management Skills
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Confidence, enthusiasm, and a passion for learning
Additional requirements:
o References confirming suitability for role
o Commitment to Safeguarding
o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
o Eligibility to work in the UK
