Summary


We are delighted to be able to recruit to a Haematology Specialist Nurse post to support our patients with the Haematology service at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

The expected hours of work will be Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours worked usually between 08.00-16.00.

Applications are encouraged from registered nurses with experience in caring for patients in a Haematology / Oncology setting.

Initially for training and support, the successful candidate will be required to spend time with the established CNS team to develop skills and confidence in the role. After the induction period, the role will involve working autonomously and managing a patient case load effectively.

You will have a clear understanding of the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist as a clinical expert, leader, researcher and educator. Your role will involve helping to coordinate care for outlying Haematology patients within Manchester Royal Infirmary and supporting patients on Ward 44. Your role will be an integral part of the Hematology department and you will be expected to contribute to educational sessions and MDT meetings regularly. You will also be involved in quality improvement work on Ward 44, be committed to the development of specialist nursing practice and demonstrate evidence of on-going professional and academic development.
