Summary

As Head Orthoptist, you will play a pivotal role in leading our Orthoptic and Ophthalmic Technician teams, ensuring the delivery and maintenance of exceptional service standards. Your responsibilities will span across clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, making this a multifaceted and rewarding role.

Requirements:
• Qualified Orthoptist with significant clinical experience and a proven track record of excellence in patient care.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct and oversee research projects, including study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, patients, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Excellence:Lead by example in providing top-tier orthoptic care, setting the standard for clinical practice within the department. Your expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions, ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Leadership and Management:Take on significant leadership responsibility by overseeing the Orthoptic and Ophthalmic Technician teams. Your guidance and mentorship will empower team members to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Education:Drive the educational initiatives within the department, both for staff development and external education programs. You will have the opportunity to facilitate training sessions, workshops, and presentations to enhance the knowledge and skills of team members.

Research:Play an active role in advancing orthoptic research by leading and participating in research projects. Your contributions to the field will help expand our understanding of eye conditions and improve treatment outcomes for patients.
