We are looking for an experienced registered nurse with an interest in emergency admissions. Ideally you would have experience in assessment or triaging skills however this is not essential. You must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge base in patient care and be able to recognise a deteriorating patient.

We ask that if you are applying you are an adaptable individual as the service is still in its infancy and continuing to grow. Therefore you will be asked to work weekends in future and the opening hours may change to accommodate the service and patient group.

You will work collaboratively within a team of GP's, advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates, nurses, PE nurse specialists and healthcare support workers supporting patients on the unit, ensuring their safety through to discharge.

As a Registered Nurse working on the SDEC unit you will have the opportunity to learn about emergency and acute care admissions, Develop your assessment and triaging skills, additionally many opportunities for further development exist within this unit.

As it is a new service only opening in 2021 you will have a key role in its development and expansion

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
