Summary


Reporting to the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, this role supports the delivery of digital transformation with the aim of improving safety, efficiency and quality of care. The Trust is undertaking a full Electronic Patient Record implementation in collaboration with Essex Partnership Trust (EPUT), this role will predominantly work on the governance and co-ordination of clinical risk management for this programme.

The purpose of this role is to promote the role of clinical digital safety within the Trust, helping to build a safety focused culture. This will be achieved by ensuring that the Trust is compliant with the NHS safety standard DCB0160 Clinical Risk Management – its application in the deployment and use of health IT systems. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for ensuring that clinical safety is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the upcoming digital transformation projects, in order to support the Trust’s digital roadmap. In doing so, the Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) will supervise, support and lead other team members who will be expected to work on safety cases for their digital projects/work streams.
