Summary
Your responsibilities will include setting up and managing the Microsoft Dynamics capability within the team, overseeing the support and advancement of existing and forthcoming applications. Microsoft Dynamics constitutes a significant portion of our current and future technical strategy.
Consequently, we've decided to form an in-house team to handle support and development tasks for externally sourced applications, while also facilitating the creation of internally generated solutions.
You'll have the opportunity to join the team at its inception, allowing you to actively shape its structure, training programs, and strategic direction. Our applications are instrumental in facilitating essential activities for DVSA staff, such as scheduling theory tests, managing roadside enforcement encounters, and conducting annual vehicle tests.

Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Digital Delivery Software Development and Quality Assurance technical capability for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and inspiration to their team of software developers and software quality assurance engineers and will be focused on delivering value to the respective digital services.
- Assist the principal developer with team organisation, motivation, and assessment. This will include recruitment, development, and performance management of team members.
- As part of the technical steering team the role holder will also manage the definition and implementation of departmental technical development and test strategy to drive Digital plans across all DVSA customer facing services.

Additional Information
This role can be based in Bristol, Swansea, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham or Birmingham, your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
This role will require regular attendance at our Swansea office, where the majority of the team are based.
