Step Teachers are working with a school that is seeking a dedicated and innovative Food Technology Teacher to join our team. This is a temporary-to-permanent role, offering an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students in the field of food technology.
Food Technology Teacher Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging food technology lessons to students of varying abilities.
- Plan and execute a curriculum that covers all aspects of food technology, including nutrition, food safety, and culinary skills.
- Utilise various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles within the food technology classroom.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure improvement in food technology skills.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in the food technology lab, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate food technology into cross-curricular activities.
- Organize and supervise food technology projects, practical sessions, and events.
- Encourage students to explore and develop a passion for food technology.
Food Technology Teacher Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Food Technology, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or qualification (PGCE, QTS, etc.)
- Proven experience teaching food technology at the secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of food technology, including contemporary issues in food production, sustainability, and health.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students in the field of food technology.
