Summary

Sitting within Facilities Management Services, Coventry City Council's FM Operations Team is expanding to ensure our properties remain functional and safe for our occupants and visitors. The team are responsible for ensuring our buildings remain compliant, safe, secure and vibrant working environments. You will be joining a fast paced and rewarding service, maintaining and operating our vast property portfolio ranging from the Grade I listed Guildhall to our modern One & Two Friargate buildings.

What is the job role?

We're seeking an enthusiastic Facilities Manager for the Friargate District, responsible for overseeing a varied range of properties and services. Your role involves ensuring that we consistently achieve value for money, maintain high standards of condition and safety, and continually strive for improvement.

You will be an integral part of a diverse core team of FM professionals dedicated to delivering quality services to a wide range of individuals, including employees, tenants, and building users.

A key part of this role will be to manage the building service charges in line with the RICS code of practice for each property. You will have previous experience, be knowledgeable and competent in the operation and application of service charge responsibilities including budget setting and reconciliations.

You will be a key member of the project team when new tenants are onboarding including liaising with fit out contractors, ensuring that no disruption occurs to other tenants within the building and relevant Health and Safety legislation is adhered to.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Management professional who can demonstrate:

  • Service charge management and operation in line with RICS code of practice
  • Property management skills and experience
  • Project management experience
  • Contract management experience
  • Good communicator and able to challenge where required poor levels of service
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and practice
