Summary

Great opportunity to work as an Auditor for our client, Swansea City Council!

The rate of pay is £17.59 per hour.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, the hours of work are:
- 9am to 5pm

This role is office-based but also able to work from home. You will be required to travel to other locations both within and outside the boundary of the City and County of Swansea

Your Time at Work

As an Auditor, your duties include:

- Assisting the Chief Auditor in the provision of the Internal Audit service by organising and undertaking audit reviews of a range of the Council's services in accordance with the United Kingdom Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
- The audit approach will be a mix of regularity and systems reviews.
- Undertaking certain audit reviews personally and assisting with special investigations as required.
- Reviewing and developing audit programs.
- Giving advice to clients on financial and operational processes as necessary.
- Where necessary, supervising and reviewing the work of members of the audit team as described in the quarterly audit plan and by reference to the Internal Audit Manual.
- Ensuring reports are issued as quickly as possible drawing management's attention to all relevant matters.
- Adopt suitable follow-up procedures to ensure that agreed recommendations have been implemented.
- Contributing to the overall management and development of the Internal Audit Section.
- Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the grade as reasonably required by the Chief Auditor.

Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect Auditor will be expected to work in a flexible manner across tasks and locations across the Council.

Applicants will be expected to have considerable PC use on a daily basis and relevant ICT skills.

You must possess the appropriate level of technical competence in the work-related skills required by an Auditor.

Experience in a similar role is required.
