Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to fill a full-time post as Deputy General Manager within the Head & Neck Directorate. This role will be responsible for providing operational support and management within the ENT services.

The post holder will be the strategic and operational lead for ENT and oversee the Clinical Administration Units (CAUs), working in conjunction with the Specialty Management Team and Clinical Leads. The post holder will be expected to spend the majority of time at Maidstone but with the potential need to travel to Tunbridge Wells.

They will work in partnership with the General Manager to provide leadership to the Directorate; developing, managing and delivering high quality responsive and effective services in line with the Trust’s strategic direction.

The main priorities over the coming year include the continuation of managing effective cancer pathways, improving the RTT position, and forward planning for exciting new treatment techniques and service expansion opportunities.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.
