Summary

Stock Rentals are part of the Stock Group who as well as manufacturing road sweepers and suction excavators are the UK’s first manufacturer of Hydro-Vacuum Excavators which are anticipated to revolutionise the way in which the UK carries out safe excavations in the vicinity of buried services. Stock Rentals are the outlet for this equipment through contract hire, with particular emphasis on growth in the utility sectors.

We have an exciting opportunity for a competent Commercial Vehicle Technician with a professional approach to join our friendly team and support our continued growth. This role will be primarily workshop based.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities -

• Carry out vehicle fleet and equipment inspections, health and quality checks, assessment, and reports.
• Maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles (bodies, and equipment).
• Carry out preventive maintenance and servicing.
• Diagnose faults by isolating systems or components that may have caused or potentially cause a problem.
• Assembly and manufacture of body parts for Stock Mini-Vacs (Hydro-vacuum excavators).
• Maintain and develop healthy, safe, and secure workplace environment.
• Maintain and develop close working relationships with team members (Team Player).
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly paperwork in line with company requirements.
• Communicate parts requirements to the responsible person.
• Maintain good working relationships and liaise with required suppliers, contractors, and specialists.
• Work towards minimising expenses and maximising profit in the company.
• To build and maintain existing Customer relationships to the highest level.


Additional tasks may include:
• Collecting and delivering parts/vehicles/drivers.
• Attending customer sites to access and rectify breakdowns and other mechanical issues.
• To train and mentor apprentices and new members of the team.
• To organise, order and receive parts, to maintain and manage parts stock system.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles for Customers vehicles and equipment.
• Promote and develop new business opportunities.
• Clean and prepare vehicles for hire.


Required skills.

• City & Guilds level 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent in Commercial / Heavy Goods Vehicle Repairs.


Additional skills

It would be advantages to have experience or qualifications in any of the following:

• Welding and Fabricating
• Auto Electrical
• Hydraulics and Hydraulic systems
• Commercial Vehicle repairs
• Production fitting / commercial body building
• Service Engineer
• VOSA, IRTEC Inspection qualification
• Class 2 Driving License
• Fire Marshal and/or First Aid trained

Salary negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
