Summary


Specialist Support Nurse: Nutrition - Fixed Term/ Secondment 22.5 hours

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Support Nurse to work within our nutrition specialist nursing teams. You will have excellent communication skills, resilience, effective time management skills and the ability to work with various members of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Previous experience is Gastroenterology is essential and ample opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills in all aspects of Artificial Nutrition Support. Education, training and support specific to our patient cohort will be provided.

The role will involve direct contact with inpatients requiring Parental and Enteral Nutrition. This includes providing teaching, practical training and support for patients.

Both services work closely with the dieticians and extended MDT, including the weekly Feeding Issues MDT (FIMDT) and Intestinal Rehabilitation MDT (IR-MDT) The role involves liaising with external agencies and organisations and helping facilitate the management of patient transfer to community

Supporting colleagues and Clinical Nurse Specialists in supporting patients with additional nutritional needs whether that be Parental or Enteral Nutrition.

Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff
