The aim of the TRU East Alliance is to transform the East of Leeds route allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North’s great cities. Providing passengers with more choice, more seats, and better facilities on a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.

What you will be doing

- Co-ordinate all temporary works activities.
- Manage and coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors
- Ensure a temporary works register is established and maintained Ensure that information relevant to the temporary works has been received from the client, ensure that a design brief is prepared with consultation within the project team and that it is both adequate and in accordance with the actual situation on site.
- Ensure that any other temporary works in the vicinity are referenced in the design brief.
- Ensure residual risks have been addressed. Provide information as required by CDM Regulations Ensure that the design brief is issued to the TWD for a satisfactory temporary works design to be carried out.
- Ensure that a design check is carried out by someone who was not involved in the original design and issue certificates. Ensure inspections are carried out and that all temporary works are constructed and removed safely
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks.
- Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities.
- Manage design developments till approval and implementation
- Liaise with different designers simultaneously
- Obtaining of relevant certificates and approvals by relevant bodies, designers, client
- Comply with commercial processes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Joint Venture policies and processes.


Who we are looking for

- Previous experience as a Temporary works Coordinator on a project of similar scale and complexity.
- Working knowledge of Temporary Works management procedures, particularly BS5975.
- Experience in design and/or engineering management
- Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable
- Proven knowledge of Network Rail and Highways England technical standards and approval processes highly advantageous.
- Depth of understanding of the construction environment for safe and buildable designs.
- Ability to manage conflicting demands, assess priorities, proactively plan the works to ensure timely delivery of project requirements.
- Disciplined approach to quality assurance and documentation. Attention to detail, ensuring legal compliance and satisfying project requirements.
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations, in particular, the Designer and principal Contractors role
- Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body
- Experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
- Awareness of commercial processes
