Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic individual to undertake project management and an important role in data generation, to inform the roll out of a new clinical service.

The objective of the role is to understand the use of blood transfusions in patients either awaiting a transplant or following a kidney transplant. The key roles will be to collect clinical data on patients being transfused and their outcomes. The post holder will be based at Imperial and work in collaboration with the transplant team, haematologists, and the immunology laboratory staff; and feedback at regular online meetings with colleagues at NHS Blood and Transplant. Whilst based at Imperial, the aim will be to replicate data across other transplant centres within London.

It is preferable that the post holder is GCP trained, has IT skills, and experience at working with databases in excel or other formats. It is desirable that the post holder is able to undertake basic analysis and reporting of data.

· You will deliver the ‘’RE: 147TRAN24 - Red cell transfusion in wait-list and kidney transplant recipients; indications and impact of HLA-selected red cells’’ project.
• You will work day to day with the transplant clinical lead of the project (Dr Michelle Willicombe).
• You will liaise between multiple specialities and across institutions.
• You will manage of a central database.
• You will collect clinical data as part of a clinical audit to identify research questions and shape clinical quality improvement projects/new service delivery.
• You will generate and presenting reports.
