Summary

Job Description

The Knowledge management Lead will be responsible for driving knowledge management within major infrastructure projects at Devonport Dockyard providing support and best practice to our projects. They will own the Business Unit Knowledge Management and Learning from Experience strategy by supporting the Programme Directors to capture and share learning from the projects. they will also assure the senior leadership team that appropriate steps are being taken to with respect to knowledge management. The Knowledge Management Lead will also be responsible for interfacing with members of the knowledge management community outside of Major Infrastructure Projects to assure alignment with the wider business and sharing of knowledge as appropriate.

There is a portfolio of works for the next 10 – 15 years improving the capabilities of the dockyard in support of maintaining Royal Naval vessels in and out of the water. The majority of the portfolio is at RIBA stage 4 (Technical Design) going into stage 5 (Manufacturing and Construction). Future works will soon be entering stage 0 (Strategic Direction) so it is important that we capture learning to inform current work, future work and handover to use by the operational teams at Devonport.

For this role, you will be expected to facilitate workshops, conduct after action reviews and write up the findings in a way that enables sharing of knowledge.

Requirements/Qualifications

• A STEM related degree or demonstrable experience
• An understanding of high hazard industries such as nuclear, construction or rail due to the high regulation that is imposed.
• Evidence of audit ideally ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor Course
• Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of running workshops both remotely and in person.
• Good written skills to ensure outputs and outcomes are successfully captured and communicated to the necessary stakeholders.
• Experience of Knowledge Management systems and strategies to enable you to elevate current practice.

Work Arrangements

The role can be predominantly remote but running and facilitating on-site workshops will be key to successful outcomes. It is expected that there will be monthly attendance at site in Plymouth.
