About the Role

Base Location: Clyde Windfarm, Biggar, Scotland

Salary: £26,609 - £30,472 + company vehicle + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time

We currently have an opportunity for a Wind-Farm Site Operative. As a member of the SSE Renewables Onshore Wind Operations team you will be based at Clyde Windfarm, however you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of wind turbines, wind farm equipment and civil infrastructure across a number of sites throughout the GB South region as and when required.

The main purpose of your role is to ensure the highest level of health, safety and environmental protection on SSE Wind Farms in the area assigned. You will assume the responsibility for the co-ordination of upkeep activities in the area utilising the Work Control system while ensuring company policies and procedures are applied correctly.

In conjunction with site supervisors, you will take ownership for the general maintenance and upkeep of wind-farm support facilities, roadways, and balance of plant. You will carry out regular monthly checks and audits of sites to ensure business and industry compliance are met and prepare reports for operational issues.

You will ensure tasks are carried out with safety at the forefront. In addition to this, you will enable the effective inter-departmental working to ensure successful operation. This role will involve working across various wind farms which will require you to train and work at various locations throughout the GB South area to support our business needs. This role will involve extensive travel and periods when staying away from home is necessary therefore, a flexible approach to working hours is essential.

This role can be demanding and will involve working in all weather conditions and occasionally at heights.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Served a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant engineering/construction trade or have relevant industry experience.

- Knowledge of civil maintenance and construction standards.

- Ability to learn new skills including Working/Rescue at Height and be able to operate with minimum supervision.

- Previous experience on wind farms and appreciation of electrical dangers will be a distinct advantage.

- Understanding of environmental obligations and respect for the countryside.

- Strong written and verbal communications skills and be highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure.

Due to the nature of the role, a full, valid UK driving license is essential.
