The Background and Role

An innovative organisation in the specialist Aerospace related industry is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join their team. The candidate must be a UK national and will need to pass security vetting upon employment.

The Person
Qualifications and Experience:

Preferably time-served professional in CNC machining within a Setter/Operator role.
Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator.
City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent.
Skills and Attributes:

Proficient in operating CNC machinery and tooling, as well as precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Computer literate with the capability to edit and adjust CNC programs.
Strong mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
Keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
Good communication abilities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
Experience with HAAS CNC machines is advantageous.

Primary Job Function
Utilize key skills in the development, manufacture, testing, and support of the company’s projects to meet tight customer timescales efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling and milling.
Understand task specifications and desired results by reading engineering and mechanical drawings.
Conduct test runs to prove out both new and existing CNC programs.
Supervise machines during task execution, making necessary adjustments to enhance results.
Inspect and measure finished products to ensure process completion to specifications.
Perform daily checks and maintenance on machinery to ensure functionality.

Experience

Preferably 5+ years in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
