As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll show demonstrable experience working in a modern ITIL-based IT service organisation, ability to collaborate effectively, and experience of managing a complex, national multi-site infrastructure. You'll be an analytical thinker, with experience of using data to drive action and a good understanding of healthcare engineering.

You will be part of the team responsible for the development and delivery of HealthCare devices and their integration onto the Nuffield Health systems. Your primary responsibility will be for the configuration and integration of Medical Devices. This will require you to understand the requirements of each device and learn how to manage the software/firmware on this device in collaboration with device manufacturers and the application integrators. A knowledge of serial based communication would be beneficial as would be having any experience with devices that act as serial to network translators.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with Project Management and 3rd party vendors to find architecturally sound solutions to healthcare device integration.

  • Integration: Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate HealthCare device systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and security.

  • Monitoring and Optimization: work with HealthCare teams to ensure suitable monitoring and alerting of HealthCare devices in line with existing tooling and standards.

  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations in all HealthCare Device systems.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps with regards to HealthCare Devices

  • User Support: Provide project technical support to end-users, addressing their HealthCare Device-related queries and issues.

  • Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users and IT staff on using HealthCare Device tooling and procedures relating to the support of HealthCare Devices.

You should have:

  • Proven experience working with Console based hardware systems of various IoT devices either over wifi, network or serial connections.

  • A willingness to travel to sites all over the UK (except NI) with the possibility of staying away for varying number of nights.

  • Out of hours working at times.

  • A good understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, Dot1X authentication, MAC Address Authentication Bypass, VLAN's and basic routing.

  • Understanding of networking principles and protocols, including SSH, Telnet.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with 3rd parties and internal teams with an aim to find mutually acceptable solutions for specific low level issues.
