Summary


Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor in Plastic Surgery in a substantive role which has an emphasis on service delivery for the management of skin cancer.

The successful applicant will be joining a department which delivers the majority of subspecialty areas within Plastic Surgery.

The department of Plastic Surgery provides for the management of all aspects of plastic surgery. The post provides an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established team including Breast Surgery and Reconstruction, Head and Neck Cancer Surgery and Reconstruction, Complex Hand Surgery, Complex Trauma Surgery and Reconstruction and Complex Skin Cancer Surgery and Reconstruction.

You will have 4 years full-time post graduate experience (or equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty, or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

The successful applicant is expected to have extensive experience in skin cancer diagnosis, management and surgery. This postwould be an ideal position for someone wishes to work as a Specialty Doctor and further develop the service.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
