Summary

Are you passionate about your profession of physiotherapy?

Are you passionate about supporting the development and learning of our future workforce and those just starting their registrant career?

Do you value and enjoy supporting students whilst on placement, with ideas on how we can improve the student experience ?

Are you an experienced clinician, passionate about delivering high quality, evidenced base and compassionate patient care?

Are you wanting to expand and grow your leadership skills?

If so this could be the right role for you!

We are looking for an experienced, patient-centred physiotherapist to take up our practice educator role following the internal promotion of the post holder.

You will work closely with clinical teams across a wide range of clinical areas, including many regional centres of specialism, to help expand our placement offers and ensure staff are supported to deliver great learning environments for students.

A key member of the AHP faculty here at UHL, you will help drive inter-professional learning opportunities both for students and preceptees, and work with our local HEI partners to support the development of our future workforce.

Leicester is a fantastic, multi-cultural and diverse city, with great facilities and yet surrounded by beautiful countryside, with easy links to the rest of the country by road and rail.

The post holder will work as part of the AHP faculty team to provide support and guidance to AHP learners in the physiotherapy service, helping ensure that appropriate learning environments are created and maintained to drive the integration of theory with practice, working in conjunction with service leads and lead professionals for OT and physiotherapy to deliver excellent learning opportunities.

The post holder will establish and maintain good and effective working relationships with colleagues both within and outside UHL to improve practice education.

They will
• ensure students are supported in becoming competent and capable practitioners within an inter-professional framework by facilitating the educators with the teaching, supervising and mentoring of students and registered practitioners in a variety of settings
• In partnership with the stakeholders identify and develop capacity and capability for additional clinical placements, to ensure there are adequate placements to meet demand.
• Support and facilitate the preceptorship program, being a source of advice to both the preceptor and preceptee.
• Represent the stakeholders on external professional groups and network with colleagues from other organisations as appropriate e.g. Professional Regulatory Body visits, NHSE

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
