Summary

The North London Mental Health Partnership is a collaboration between the Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I). Our vision is Better Mental Health, Better Lives and Better Communities and our aims are to provide consistently high quality care closer to home; with our partners in North London and each borough, ensure equity of outcome for all; offer great places to work, providing staff with a supportive environment to deliver outstanding care; and to be more effective as an organisation by pioneering research, Quality Improvement and technology. We are progressing to become one new NHS organisation by Autumn 2024. We were explicit from the outset that the partnership needed to focus on making a demonstrable difference to service users, local residents, and our staff. With our scale - £500m turnover and employing 5,500 staff – working as one voice for mental health, we aim to strengthen our influence over the strategic direction for mental health locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, ensuring that health and social care resources are fairly allocated to meet the needs of people with mental illness and health problems.

The Director of Strategy and Performance improvement is a key and unique new role, reporting to the CEO. The post holder is responsible for taking forward all aspects of the organisational strategy and performance improvement agenda, leading the design and development of the corporate partnership strategy in both NHS Trusts and the operating model required to deliver the strategy. They will ensure that the priorities of the organisations’ performance improvement processes are delivered in a way that ensures the outcomes for service users, carers, our workforce and wider system are achieved in the most effective and efficient ways possible. The role has a broad portfolio and is responsible for the annual plan and planning process, performance improvement, Quality Improvement, corporate strategy and population health.

Why choose to join the Partnership?
• We believe that by working together, our two Trusts can achieve more for the residents of North Central London and our patients than we can by working apart.
• Deliver the best care using the most up-to-date practise in supporting those with mental health illnesses.
• Transforming and creating a positive environment for our service users, staff and visitors.
• Creating and working together to become a great place to work for all our staff.
• We offer flexible working, a wide range of health and wellbeing initiatives, NHS Pension and so much more.
• Generous Annual Leave Allowance
• NHS Discounts in a large variety of retail stores and services.
• We have excellent internal staff network support groups.

The postholder will need to be comfortable working in an environment of complex matrix management arrangements and will at all times behave and align with our Trusts’ values and cultural pillars:
• We are kind
• We are respectful
• We work together
• We keep things simple
• We empower
• We are proudly diverse

We are seeking a senior leader who aligns with our purpose of working with our communities to improve mental health, and who will lead in line with our partnership values: we are kind, we are respectful, we work together, we keep things simple, we empower and we are proudly diverse. If you feel your background and motivations are a good fit, we would welcome your interest. We are committed to ensuring our leadership and management teams represent the communities we serve and as such welcome applications from all members of society.
