Summary


This exciting position has become available as a result of service expansion and is ideal for an Speech and Language Therapist with prior experience, including in other settings. There will be chances to engage in work across the bustling general wards and participate in regular videofluoroscopy clinics and FEES services.

Our Speech and Language Therapy team are known for a friendly and supportive environment. We hold regular cross-site team meetings with a strong emphasis on Continuing Professional Development (CPD), covering a variety of dysphagia and communication topics.

This specialized role operates across the inpatient wards, offering advanced expertise in addressing acute speech, communication, and swallowing issues.

Responsibilities include conducting specialised and tailored clinical assessments, devising management and rehabilitation plans tailored to individual patient needs. Additionally, they provide support for mental capacity assessments and offer guidance to the medical and nutrition teams regarding dysphagia risks and prognosis. This aids in facilitating efficient patient flow, identifying and managing risks effectively, particularly in the acute inpatient setting.
