We have a regional presence throughout Essex and across London. With relationships with Blue Chip Companies, Schools, Local Government organisations, Care homes and numerous businesses in the area.
An opportunity has arisen for an estimator to work within our company, initially this position will be offered part time / temp with the possibility of a full time appointment for the right candidate.
Construction / Maintenance Estimator responsibilities include:
Acquiring understanding of the requirements of the project
Analysing individual tasks to breakdown materials and labour
Interpreting client supplied schedules to build estimate
Visiting sites, to include, schools, public buildings, offices and other premisses / sites to compile tender
Completion of Tender bids to include recording documentation

We are looking for a thorough Construction estimator to calculate possible costs of various projects.
Projects will range from small maintenance works to medium scaled construction projects (>£1000 to £500-1M).
Experience in estimating within following fields;
Construction – Commercial, Public Buildings, Schools
Electrical (basic understanding required)
Mechanical (basic understanding required)
Office fit out (all aspects from flooring to decoration)
Net Zero - Implication on building upgrades
Candidate will be working within a team and mentor Trainee.
Work will take candidate to all parts of Essex and into London.
Responsibilities
Analyse and understand all tender documentation
Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand
Visit sites, schools, offices and other premises to gather essential information
Carry out measured site surveys to enable generation of estimate
Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
Collate sub-contractor bid packages to enable a complete tender submission, document all sub-contractors bids.
Provide detailed estimate breakdowns upon request.
Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties
Evaluate subcontractor estimates and ensure compliant
Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, Engineers, architects etc.)
Generate high level project plans (MS Project)
Build quotation from scratch and liaise with client to compile full understanding of work
Tracking variation and valuations
Assist in all financial aspects of our projects from tender through to final account
Requirements
Proven experience within required sectors
Good understanding of excel and MSproject
Understanding architectural drawings
Understanding of engineers specifications / drawings and interpretation to site if required
Great attention to detail
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Well-organised and reliable
Valid Driving license with own vehicle
The ideal candidate will be very comfortable with numbers and analytical. You must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
The candidate will poses excellent presentation skills with data logging to back up all estimates.
Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
Comfortable with numbers and technology
The role is based in Chelmsford with fantastic connections and access to local shops and Transport network.
