This opening assignment is for 3 months

Enhanced DBS required for this role

An EHCP Assessment Officer is required to undertake general SEN work including Annual Review Amendments, support around exclusions, placements support, assessments etc. as required. The successful candidate needs to live local enough to travel to Stockton-on-Tees for equipment/training etc.

Key responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of learners (0-25 years) with special educational needs who attend a variety of schools, settings and colleges.
General SEN work including Annual Review Amendments, support around exclusions, Placements support, assessments.

Other “Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items:

Experience:

Previous experience in the field of SEND and a good working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Knowledge of recent educational legislation and policy.
Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and related legislation.



Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication skills, with an approachable manner.
Ability to remain calm under challenging circumstances.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
